BFAR-MIMAROPA Region, spearheaded by Regional Director Elizer S. Salilig, MFT graced the Installation and Oath Taking of CY 2022 Regional Fisherfolk Director on May 2, 2022 at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office MIMAROPA, with the theme “π‘€π’Άπ“ƒπ‘”π’Ύπ“ƒπ‘”π’Ύπ“ˆπ’Ήπ’Άπ“ƒπ‘” π’Ÿπ’Ύπ“‡π‘’π“€π“‰π‘œπ“‡ 𝓅𝒢𝓇𝒢 π“ˆπ’Ά π“‚π’Άπ“ˆ 𝑀𝒢𝓉𝒢𝓉𝒢𝑔 𝓃𝒢 𝐡𝒢𝓁𝒾𝓀𝒢𝓉𝒢𝓃.”The newly installed Regional Fisherfolk Director was Ms. Conchita Roldan from Rizal, Occidental Mindoro. Ms. Roldan was known because of her invaluable contribution to the fishery sector in their municipality and was recognized by various awarding bodies. Ms. Roldan will assume the role of BFAR Regional Director during the whole month of May and be involved in the implementation and dissemination of the key programs of the agency.The BFAR-MIMAROPA Region head officials in the person of Regional Director Elizer S. Salilig, Assistant Regional Director Roberto R. Abrera, Chief Admin, Hope J. Relayson, and OIC, RFTFCD, Ferdinand B. Lim also gave their message of gratitude and appreciation to the fisherfolk leaders and members present on-site and virtually, acknowledging them as the real boss of the bureau. The Fisherfolk Director program was made possible through the Department of Agriculture Special Order No. 88 series of 2005 for a more strengthened partnership in Fisheries Management.
