“Fuel Discount for Farmers and Fisherfolks Caravan, Know Your Client (KYC) cum

Distribution of Discount Cards” materialized on five (5) towns of Marinduque on August 24-25,

2022.

The Government’s Fuel Discount for Farmers and Fisherfolk Program (FDFFP) which rolled out

on March 2022 that emanated from the 2022 GAA Special Provision No. 20 that allotted ₱500M

in funds to provide and support Fuel Discounts to the farmers and fisherfolks beneficiaries that

are mainly affected and continue facing challenges caused by high cost of farm inputs including

the continues price hike of Diesel and cushion the impact of the current global economic

challenges to agriculture sector, and enable the food production to be more productive in the

country.

The Program main beneficiaries are corn farmers and fisherfolks who must exclusively use the

subsidy to fuel their farm machineries and motorized bancas respectively. Each beneficiaries

handed out a Discount cards loaded with ₱3000 subsidy that will use for purchasing diesel or

gasoline in selected gas stations accredited by DOE – “ Sulit Petron Gasoline Service Center” at

Tampus, Boac Marinduque.

The validation of qualified fisherfolks are verified by the BFAR PFO Staff and headed by

Regional Planning Unit Staff- Mr. Emmanuel Perez and launched to Know Your Client (KYC)

validation together with the partner Universal Storefront Services Corporation (USSC).

Successful beneficiaries of fisherfolks well-catered and assisted by maximal effort of BFAR PFO

OIC headed by Mr. Joel Malabanan, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO OIC) – Dr.

Lucilla Valdez, who is concurrent validating the Corn and Rice Beneficiaries, Provincial

Agriculture Office (PAgrO- OIC) – Edilberto M. De Luna, LGU’s and Municipal Agriculture Officer

of five (5) towns of Marinduque and most especially to the utmost support of our Provincial

Governor Hon. Presbitero J. Velasco Jr. and the Provincial Administrator of Marinduque PA

Mike Velasco who shared his remarkable insights to:

– Fisherfolk Fuel Subsidy – 696 beneficiaries (P3,000.00 per beneficiary)

-Rice Farmers Subsidy – 269 beneficiaries (P5,000.00 per beneficiary)

-Corn Fuel Subsidy -19 beneficiaries (P3,000.00 per beneficiary)
