The key personnel of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – MIMAROPA Region  convened for the Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting held at the BFAR Regional Fisheries Office, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on February 7-8, 2023.

The meeting aimed to establish the tone for necessary actions and integrate recommendations on work plans and program outline with focus to continuously support the fisheries industry and empower fisherfolk.

Regional Director Emmanuel H. Asis, DFT, CESE presided the meeting and actively participated by division chiefs, provincial fisheries officers, technology outreach station chiefs, section and unit heads. The FY 2022 accomplishments and FY 2023 plans and targets were presented by the planning unit as well as the regular and special programs focal persons to discuss the strategies to achieve the targets for the year.

A general assembly meeting was also conducted and serve as an avenue to lay out the Region’s Stategic Plan as the main catalyst that would propel the region to success. An Open Forum was also provided to raise issues and concerns related to operations due to changes in the management.

Oath taking ceremony of the newly hired and promoted personnel was also held. Promoted personnel were:

  • Joriel Aclan- Fishing Regulations Officer II
  • Frederick C. Santiago- Administrative Officer II
  • Myra D. Galang- Community Development Officer I
  • Chinalyn Candari- Aquaculturist I
  • Deejay Labiaga- Aquaculturist I
  • Adelito Castillo- Fishing Regulations Officer I
