Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources MIMAROPA Regional Director Emmanuel H. Asis, DFT, CESE conducted a Project Monitoring and Evaluation in the Province of Oriental Mindoro from February 14-16, 2023. This is the first league in the series of project M&E that Dir. Asis will be conducting as a new RD of BFAR MIMAROPA.
Dir. Asis also graced various activities including the 1st Quarter meeting of Oriental Mindoro LMP upon invitation of LMP President Hon. Mayor Elgin A. Malaluan, Courtesy Call to Mindoro State University Bongabong Campus Director Dr. Ciedelle Piol-Salazar, and Pola Municipal Administrator Maynardo C. Axalan. He also presided in the presentation of Aqua Feed Mill site validation to be constructed in Brgy. Nasukob, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro with the presence of experts from Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center – Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD) and Municipal Mayor Hon. Ernilo C. Villas of Bulalacao.
The projects visited in Oriental Mindoro includes, among others:
- the on-going construction of the new BFAR MIMAROPA Regional Office at Sapul, Calapan City;
- 70 Footer Patrol Boat at Navotas, Calapan City;
- the operation of the Brackishwater Fisheries Research Station at Melgar, Naujan;
- the Intensive Tilapia Hatchery at Barcenaga, Naujan;
- the Multi-Species Hatchery in the Mindoro State University, Main Campus;
- the Mindoro Shrimp Hatchery at Bongabong; and
- the Community Fish Landing Center and FPLEG Station in Bongabong.
Dir. Asis had an in-depth interaction with the personnel and staff of the different stations visited and was able to appraised with the implementation issues and concerns.
